New Definition

I would like to propose a new definition to the world at large. "Disclosure Premium" - The difference between a government program's (or business project's) cost before an unauthorized disclosure and the same program's cost after the unauthorized disclosure. I thought of this while looking at the Drudge Report's link to this report regarding Air Force One.

I wonder what the disclosure premium will be as the Secret Service attempts to deal with the unauthorized disclosure.

If any case proves the value of The Hague, it is the Milosevic Trial

I am amazed, (well, not really amazed... stunned, speechless, shaking my head in disbelief) the Milosevic trial is finally over. The best excuse for the length of the trial is provided by David Kaye of the International Herald Tribune in this article.

I request the reader think about three points.

1. In today's world, can we really afford criminal trials regarding human rights violations that last over 4 years?
2. For a maximum penalty of life in prison?
3. When the violations themselves lasted barely longer?

Poor execution of "No Child Left Behind" is a LOCAL problem

But Mr. Feller of the AP doesn't think so...

It seems that provisions of the "No Child Left Behind" Act are being ignored in various school districts across the nation. Go Figure. This one seems to be a problem of poor execution. My issue with Mr Feller is that he simply gives us a snippet... one that casts blame in the direction of the Federal Government, when "everyone" knows that LOCAL school control is the rule. Read this and then ask yourself a simple question... Why are these people congregating in Washington D.C. when they should be pulling a Sheehan in front of their LOCAL school board? If your school district isn't delivering, confront them BEFORE you take the issue to the Feds. The last time I checked, there weren't any Federal Education Enforcement agents... and I hope there NEVER are.

Who told Whom first... A MSM priority

OK, a first serious attempt at a blog. I am noticing a trend here, the White House Press corps is giving Scott McClellan a very hard time with regard to the hunting accident over the weekend... because they weren't told first. Look at this exchange;

"Let's just be clear here," Gregory said. "The vice president of the
United States accidentally shoots a man, and he feels that it's
appropriate for a ranch owner who witnessed this to tell the local
Corpus Christi newspaper and not the White House press corps at large
or notify the public in a national way?"

"Well, I think we all
know that once it is made public, then it's going to be news and all of
you are going to be seeking that information," McClellan replied.
