If any case proves the value of The Hague, it is the Milosevic Trial

I am amazed, (well, not really amazed... stunned, speechless, shaking my head in disbelief) the Milosevic trial is finally over. The best excuse for the length of the trial is provided by David Kaye of the International Herald Tribune in this article.

I request the reader think about three points.

1. In today's world, can we really afford criminal trials regarding human rights violations that last over 4 years?
2. For a maximum penalty of life in prison?
3. When the violations themselves lasted barely longer?
